Vitalstar was founded in 2000, integrating animal model research, development and sale. Vitalstar’s mission is to provide high quality animal models and services to academic labs, pharmaceutical companies, and clinical research institutions around the world at highly competitive prices.
Vitalstar supports customers’ R&D activity from disease model mouse to preclinical studies. We are mainly provide 4 kinds of products or services, including custom production of genetically modified mice, humnized mouse (disease) model, cell products, and conventional manipulation services of mice or mouse embryos.
We are one of the leading providers of custom-made mouse models, including transgenic, knockout, knockin and humanized mouse model.  We offer one-stop solutions to our customer needs, ranging from vector construction, ES cell manipulation, embryo microinjection and transfer, embryo staining, to genotyping.  Our services are fully customizable and 100% flexible, so our customers can have the option of outsourcing to us at any stage of the project. We build vectors for knockout, conditional knockout, knockin, and knockdown mouse models. We also build vectors for transgene expression using a variety of systems such as Talen, lentivirus, retrovirus, adenovirus, ÞiggyBac, and regular plasmids. Vitalstar helps secure your investment by providing you with the most reliable mouse transgenesis services currently on the market.

Our humnized mouse (disease) model include humanized liver mouse model, humanized immune system mouse model, infectious disease mouse model (such as HBV, HCV, and HIV), and other customize disease mouse model. In our urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA) transgenic mouse model, the Alb-uPA expression was controled by the Tet-on regulation system. This model has a high repopulation of human hepatocytes that range from 50-90% of the total liver mass. VitalSTAR Tet-uPA mouse can be used for pharmacokinetic of compounds, infectious disease, and stem cell research. Today our team can provide 50~100 VitalSTAR Tet-uPA mice with high repopulation of human hepatocytes every month. Furthermore we provide in-house study services using VitalSTAR Tet-uPA mice and sorry not to sell the mice now.
Our service of manipulating the mouse embryos include production of frozen embryos and frozen sperm; collection, cryopreservation, and thaw of mouse embryos; fertilization in vitro; embryonic biological purification, phenotype analysis, and establishment of new mouse strain. We have advanced SPF isolator and barrier facilities for animal model breeding. Now Vitalstar has more than 20 employees, and provides over 100 kinds of service every year.
Our cell products include embryonic stem cells, somatic stem cells, and somatic cells derived from various species as well as their genetically modified derivatives. We also provide contract research services for the derivation of stem cells and primary cells, in vitro and in vivo characterization of cells, gene expression and silencing in cells, and genetic modification of cells.
