Development
Oct4-EGFP transgenic mice drive the expression of EGFP (enhanced green fluorescent protein) cDNA under the control of an 18kb genomic fragment of the Oct4 gene. The Oct4 gene is expressed in primordial germ cells and undifferentiated spermatogonia of newborn mice. This line can be used to isolate live primordial germ cells that specifically express green fluorescent protein at various stages of embryonic development.
Oct4-EGFP Mice Applications
1. Green fluorescence in the embryonic cleavage bulb and ICM
2. Green fluorescence in mouse gonads
3. ES or iPS cells can be traced
