1. Services introduction
The purpose of rederivation is to remove foreign organisms such as viruses, bacteria and parasites. Strain rederivation service refers to obtaining SPF-level animals through embryo washing and embryo transplantation. At the same time, a third party was commissioned to provide relevant microbial testing and health qualification reports of rats and mice.
Rederivation methods include cesarean section and embryo transfer, but cesarean section cannot eliminate vertically transmitted viruses (such as mouse megakaryocyte virus MCMV; lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus LCMV and cerebral coccidiosis ECUN), and it is more dependent on surgical facilities, so the commonly used method is embryo transfer. Vitalstar have rederived thousands of unique strains of mice and rats with the complete removal of unwanted organisms.
2. Service classification
(1)Sperm/IVF rederivation
Our Sperm/IVF Rederivation Service requires only sperms or two males from your colony. This approach is best suited to strains carrying a single allele or transgenic rodent lines ( non-homozygous, hemizygote strains).
(2)Embryo rederivation
Embryo rederivation is used with homozygous mice or rats with multiple genetic mutations. This service requires both 2-4 males and 4-8 females from your colony. If you are not to provide the number of mice in the age ranges required for rederivation, we can provide breeding services to expand colonies and genotyping services can be added for an additional fee.
(3)IVF rederivation & rapid colony expansion
In vitro fertilization (IVF) can produce cohorts of embryos of mice and rats. The obtained embryos can be transferred into pathogen-free female mice and rapid expand the colony. This service can be easily scaled to produce large numbers of offspring.
3. Delivery cycle of embryo rederivation
